Return Policy: Resale, Estate Sale, Auction, and New Merchandise Purchases


At Dovetails LLC, we are committed to transparency and customer satisfaction, upholding the highest standards in every transaction through our Auctions Neapolitan division, estate sales, and resale offerings. Whether you’re an individual collector, an estate manager, or an auction enthusiast, we carefully inspect and describe each item to ensure confidence in your purchase. Our return policy for previously owned and new merchandise is designed to be fair, clear, and straightforward.

Previously Owned Merchandise (Resale, Estate Sale, and Auction Purchases)


Most of our items come from local Naples estates and collectors, reflecting their unique history with minimal signs of wear or use. We define “good condition” as showing only minor, normal wear, free from significant repairs, damage, or manufacturing defects. Our detailed descriptions and multiple images aim to accurately represent each item’s condition, including any damage, repairs, or restorations.

We encourage you to review images carefully and contact us at 239-262-7333 with any questions before bidding or purchasing to ensure complete satisfaction.
All sales of previously owned merchandise are final, except when an item received is materially or significantly different from our posted description and images (e.g., undisclosed damage or an incorrect item). If you believe an item does not match our description, please notify us via email within 2 business days of receipt, including your order details and the issue. We’ll review each case individually, working closely with you to resolve any concerns, and, if approved, provide return instructions.

New Merchandise Purchases

Our selection of new items from wholesale suppliers may be returned for store credit or exchange, unless marked as “Sale” items, which are final sale. To request a return:
Notify us via email within 2 business days of receiving the item, stating the reason for return.
Items must be unused, in the same condition as received, and shipped within 5 business days of receipt.

Return Process For Authorized Returns:


Contact Us:Email us within 2 business days of receiving your item, including your name, order details, and reason for return.
Receive Authorization: We’ll review your request and, if approved, provide a return authorization letter with instructions.


Ship the Item: Package the item securely, include your name, address, phone number, proof of purchase, and authorization letter, and ship it insured and trackable to:

Processing:Once received, we’ll inspect the item and process your return (store credit or exchange for new merchandise, or refund if the item was significantly different from described).


Important Notes:
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs, except when an item is materially or significantly different from our description and images, in which case we’ll cover reasonable shipping costs. All returns must be in the original condition, with no alterations or additional wear.
